Majorica is the only company in the world that produces artificial pearls that are organic. The core is the first step of the process, opal glass is the material of choice because it has a high density and a specific weight that is comparable to that of real pearls. Then about 30 to 40 layers of ''hemage'' are applied, this is an oil that is mixed with ground fish scales and / or other particles of sea animals to give the desired iridescent effect as with natural pearls.
