Beautiful antique precious coral/red coral necklace, consisting of 37 red corals "barrels" with a diameter of between 9mm-10mm, connected by metal links and a 14k gold closure. Dutch, period 1853-1906. The length of the necklace is 48cm and the diameter of the gold lock is approx. 16mm. The surface of the corals has been nicely restored into a slightly greasy state, but the intermediate links are deliberately untouched or polished, since the light oxide on the metal that has formed over the years creates a beautiful and authentic contrast. The two small golden spheres on either side of the lock have been slightly dented over the years but this is not very noticeable due to the faceted design, as can be seen on the photos. All in all a very nice piece of Dutch jewelry history.
