Cremation jewelry or other commemorative jewelry.
Are you looking for jewelry to keep the ashes/some of the cremated remains of a deceased loved one in? There are more options than you might think.
Options for such jewelry presented by funeral directors are often limited. In addition, the prices that many of these companies charge for such jewelry are exceptionally high. The emotions that accompany loss may make it more difficult to determine where "not wanting to be a cheapskate when it comes to a loved one" ends and where "overpaying unnecessarily" begins. It is therefore good to know that there are often many more options. After all, you can also go directly to a jeweler for your mourning jewelry, cutting out the middle man that is the funeral company, and allowing for more possibilities!
----------
Most standard "cremation jewelry" are pendants with a lid or screw cap. Due to this construction, the design options are often limited and many of these pendants are not very inspiring. Perhaps it is good to know that a pendant that really has something to do with the deceased loved one is also possible. Whether it is a football sneaker, a globe, or a miniature dog; the possibilities are almost endless.
After all, ashes can also be put in most existing gold or silver pendants. For example, a hole (for example in a charm) can be drilled, after which ashes are placed in the opening, which is then soldered shut again. That is custom work that requires you to go to the jeweler and not the undertaker. Such custom work starts at only 35,- Euro's in our workshop!

Use existing gold (of a loved one) to make jewelry.
Sometimes it may be that for emotional reasons it is decided to make a new piece of jewelry that contains the actual gold or silver of a loved one. For example, an existing wedding ring could be used as the basis of a fantasy ring, but it could also be that jewelry is melted down to make something out of it.
