Engraving
In our workshop in Eindhoven we offer a wide range of services for engraving, repairing and making jewelry. From engraving family crests, company logos and fingerprints to creating unique, custom-made pendants and charms - we make your jewelry personal and unique. With modern techniques such as laser engraving we can realize almost any wish.
Laser Engraving and Traditional Engraving
For standard text on the inside of rings we still use the classic needle engraving. However, for more complex designs such as family crests, logos, fingerprints and handwriting we use an advanced laser engraving machine. This ensures a razor-sharp engraving with excellent precision.
When engraving fingerprints, logos or handwriting we need a high resolution image, preferably as a PDF or JPEG, with clear black and white contrast for best results. If you only have a paper image or fingerprint, we can scan and edit it into a suitable engraving file.
Engraving in Hard to Reach Locations
Sometimes engraving is difficult, for example on the inside of a ring or on a round surface. In such cases, casting can offer a solution. This is only possible for new rings, where the engraving is incorporated as a three-dimensional element in the design and is cast along with it. The advantage of this technique is that more depth is possible in the engraving, but it is less precise than laser engraving.
Engraving in Layered Stone
Family crests are also traditionally engraved in layered stone, for example in an intaglio signet ring. We have tried this before with a laser specialist, but due to variations in the production process of layered stone, these attempts gave mixed results. According to a gemstone specialist, some German manufacturers have shortened their production method, which means that laser engravings often fail. The only reliable method remains hand engraving, something that only a small number of professionals in Germany are specialized in. We therefore outsource engraving in gemstones, which entails long waiting times and higher costs. For gemstone engraving, you are better off going elsewhere.
Pendants and Charms
In our studio we offer the possibility to create and engrave pendants and charms. This can be done with:
Engraving fingerprints or names on a pendant or charm
Logos, symbols or images that you would like to have engraved on a pendant or charm
Family crests that we can engrave on a pendant or charm
We use modern techniques such as laser engraving to engrave these designs with high precision and detail on pendants and charms. We can convert your design or image into an engravable file so that it can be applied to the desired piece of jewelry with the utmost care.
Engraving of Fingerprints and Handwriting
We can also engrave fingerprints in gold, silver and some other metals. This technique uses a laser engraving machine, which ensures a detailed and accurate result. We can engrave handwriting, for example a message from your child, an inspiring text or the handwriting of a loved one who has passed away.
For fingerprints, logos, family crests and handwriting we need a high quality image. This can be a digital image in PDF or JPEG format, or a paper image that we can scan and edit into an engravable image.
Casting as an Alternative to Engraving
In cases where engraving is not possible due to location – such as on the inside of a ring or on a curved surface – casting can be an excellent solution. This process is only possible with new jewelry, where the engraving is incorporated into the design as a three-dimensional object and cast along with it. Casting offers more possibilities for height differences in the engraving, but is slightly less precise than laser engraving.
Flexibility and Speed
Because we do a lot of the work ourselves in our studio, we can switch quickly and offer flexible solutions. This not only affects the speed, but also helps to keep the costs low. We believe that a personal conversation is faster and more efficient than emailing, so feel free to visit our store for more information or to discuss the possibilities.
