For our store in Eindhoven (Grote Berg 66) we are looking for a motivated: Goldsmith (24-36 hours)

Goldberg Juweliers is a small personal company with a focus on the purchase and sale of vintage and antique jewelry and (special) new jewelry and wedding rings from existing collections or which have been designed and made in our studio. The customer's demand has been central to us since our foundation, which is why we are particularly broadly oriented. In our own studio we repair and restore jewelry, we design jewelry, we make new jewelry, we try to help the customer with solutions that we cannot offer ourselves, we sell jewelry and we buy jewelry; if the customer wants even with a right of repurchase.

With a long-term vision, we are always open to innovation and sustainability and, in addition to professionalism, honesty towards the customer is also of great importance to us. No pushy sales techniques or sly talk, because we want the customer to be happy with his or her purchase or sale even after a week and to have a lasting positive experience.

Job description

At Goldberg Jewelers we ask you as a goldsmith not only to sit behind the workbench, but also to go into the shop.
What we ask of you as a goldsmith is that you can skillfully carry out repairs to existing jewellery, carry out minor repairs, such as adjusting rings or soldering links, but of course also work on the creation of new work.

Regarding the shop part, we ask you to guide the customer with his or her repairs, purchase or sale of jewelry, and to let the customer leave the shop with a good feeling. Especially the purchase of jewelry can be a very personal and sometimes emotional moment for people, with us it is normal to offer a listening ear when this feels necessary. In addition, we ask you to think along about the future, improving processes, etc.

Tasks and responsibilities

As a Goldsmith you are responsible for all the activities in the shop. With your personal approach and your expertise you make a positive contribution to the success of the shop and customer satisfaction. You can think of the following activities:

• To be a reliable and pleasant colleague;
• Expert advice on, accepting and carrying out jewelry repairs.
• Sale of new and used jewelry (silver, gold and diamond),
• Purchase of jewelry from private individuals (gold and silver)
• Inform and advise customers about our collection and possibilities of designing and making jewelry on request (for example by your own goldsmith work);
• Perform cash register transactions;
• Thinking about the future.
  
  It is normal for us to ask each other for advice, so you are certainly not expected to know everything. You can always watch and learn from more experienced colleagues (and vice versa).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a motivated and committed colleague who sees it as a challenge to make a success of our store and to contribute to a pleasant working environment. You are service-oriented, friendly, communicative, professional, representative, you have an eye for detail and dare to ask or give tips when necessary. In addition, you are able to listen well to the customer and guide them in making the right choice.

You also have the following at your disposal:

• You have a recognized goldsmith diploma (Schoonhoven/Antwerp);
• Experience in the jewelry industry is a plus;
• An excellent command of the Dutch language;
• Humor & Ability to put things into perspective: You are self-confident and can get along with people from all backgrounds and cultures;
