In 1874, the 19-year-old Georges-Édouard Piaget founded his first workshop in the then family farm of his parents. From there, Piaget became a high-quality watch manufacturer, until Georges-Édouard Piaget gave a self-designed pocket watch as a gift to his wife. This was the moment that Piaget started to manufacture its own watches and so in 1943 Piaget became a registered trademark. After the success of previous years, the first jewelry line ''Salon Piaget'' was released in 1959.
