Gemstone setting
Gemstone setting?
Yes, in our workshop in Eindhoven we can also set precious stones in jewellery.
Many of the custom rings, pendants and other types of jewellery that we make in our workshop are set with precious stones. From gold engagement rings with a single brilliant cut diamond, to alliance/ eternity rings with several different colored gemstones in a row.
When making a new piece of jewelry, a type of setting is chosen depending on the type of gemstone and the way it is cut. For example, a closed setting is often used for cabouchon cut stones (rounded without facets), and for stones with many facets, such as brilliant cut gemstones, an open setting with prongs is often chosen.
We can also set gemstones in existing jewellery. For example, a brilliant cut diamond can be set in a wedding ring to commemorate the birth of a child. Or a color gemstone can be added to an existing pendant, or a colorless zirconia can be replaced with a blue sapphire. And the list goes on.
Possibilities depend on the existing piece of jewelery and the wishes. For example, a ring must be thick enough to accommodate the desired stone. Please visit us to spar about what is possible and what you want.
