Memorial Jewelry / Mourning Jewelry
Yes, you can come to us for making mourning jewelry or memorial jewelry. We like to think along with you and believe that it does not have to be as expensive as with most funeral directors.
We always consider it an honor when we are commissioned to create or alter a piece of jewelry in memory of a loved one, or to commemorate an important event. There are several things we can do, depending on what you want in a memorial piece. We can:
-Create a completely new piece of jewelry , possibly based on your own design.
-Make a new piece of jewelry with gold or silver of the loved one in question. For example, we can make a solitaire ring with gemstone from an existing wedding ring, or make a pendant from an existing earring, etc.
-Adapt an existing piece of jewelry. For example, we can engrave a fingerprint or handwriting in an existing ring or pendant, or we can incorporate ashes into a pendant , charm or other piece of jewelry.

For engraving a fingerprint of a loved one on a piece of jewelry, you can also contact us. For the best result, we prefer to work with an accurate image supplied by you in high resolution with clear (black and white) contrast between the grooves of the fingerprint. Preferably as a PDF or JPEG file.
In the absence of a digital image , we can scan and edit an image or fingerprint on paper to still arrive at an engravable image. Some unclear (swept) fingerprints do not produce a nice result.
*If engraving is not possible due to the location where the engraving is to be done, for example on the inside of a ring or on a round surface, casting can be a solution. Of course, this only applies to the creation of new rings. The fingerprint can then be processed as a 3-dimensional object in the drawing of the ring and ultimately cast with the ring. Another advantage of casting is that there are more possibilities for gradual height differences in the engraving, but the disadvantage is that it is slightly less precise than laser engraving.
Incorporate ashes into a piece of jewelry.
Ashes of a loved one in an existing piece of jewelry and not in a standard tube. Most standard "ash jewelry" are pendants with a flap or screw cap. Because of this construction, many of these ash pendants are not very inspiring. Then it is good to know that a pendant that really has something to do with the deceased loved one is also possible. A football shoe, a globe, or a miniature dog; the possibilities are endless. Ashes can also be placed in most existing gold or silver pendants. For example, a hole can be drilled (for example in a charm), after which ash is placed in the opening, which is then soldered shut again. That is custom work for which you should go to the jeweler and not to the funeral director. With us, this is possible from 35 euros!
In many cases we can even process ashes into rings or other jewelry, if there is enough material (thickness) to work with. Visit our store and discuss the possibilities with us.
