Warranty
Do you offer a warranty on watches?
Yes, unless otherwise agreed, we offer a 3-month warranty on the movement of watches with normal use.
Do you offer a guarantee on (new) jewellery?
Yes, depending on the circumstances surrounding the defect or damage. Consumer legislation applies to the sale of jewelry in the Netherlands. This means that you as a consumer are not liable for defects that are the direct result of manufacturing errors. However, damage due to incorrect use is not covered by the warranty.
I bought a (vintage) piece of jewelry from you some time ago and something is broken. What now?
Bring the jewelry or send photos of the damage so that we can estimate the options and costs for repair.
Why don't you fix (this) for free?
Vintage jewelry that we sell is carefully restored, cleaned and checked for possible defects. However, gold and silver are relatively soft metals that remain sensitive to wear. A thin, vintage gold ring or a pair of earrings from the 1950s, for example, will be more vulnerable than similar jewelry made of steel. Over time, damage can occur, for example through bumping or getting caught on something. We cannot guarantee this. Compare it to a new car: if a scratch appears after a while, the garage will usually not repair it for free, even if you have driven very carefully. Repairs cost money, and we prefer to charge for the costs incurred rather than pass them on in the sales price. This allows us to offer our vintage jewelry at accessible prices.
Do you take the purchase into account when making repairs?
Yes, definitely! If you bought the jewelry from us, we will do the repairs for you as cheaply as possible without compromising on quality. Sometimes small repairs can even be done free of charge.
Do you provide a guarantee on sheet metal work or bricks?
No, we do not give a guarantee on setting work or stones. Why not? Because no matter how good a setting is, one unfortunate knock can be enough to lose a stone. To avoid discussions and keep our prices low, we (like many other jewelers) choose not to give a guarantee on setting work or stones.
Why do I get a guarantee on setting work from jeweler “X”?
Some jewelers include the cost of losing a stone in the selling price of a piece of jewelry. This means that when you buy a piece, you pay extra for the warranty on the setting or stones, so that you can have the stone replaced in the future. We choose to keep our prices low and not pass on such costs.
Can you check settlements?
Yes, of course you can have your typesetting checked by us. This is usually free of charge. However, no rights can be derived from this, for the same reasons that we do not provide a guarantee on typesetting.
